We were contacted by MyGiving Asia through a close friend of our company. As a Malaysia-focused initiative aligned with the global #GivingTuesday movement, MyGiving Asia aims to foster a culture of generosity by connecting organizations and individuals with meaningful community causes.
In conjunction with MyGiving Week, organizations were encouraged to either initiate their own community efforts or join existing ones. As a team, we decided to organize a beach clean-up at Teluk Kemang, Port Dickson.
We gathered early in the morning and headed down to the beach, equipped with rubbish pickers and bags. After dividing into smaller groups, we covered different sections of the shoreline before coming together to consolidate the collected trash.
What made the morning especially meaningful was meeting volunteers from outside our organization who joined in alongside us. The clean-up quickly became a shared effort — filled with teamwork, conversation, and a collective sense of responsibility for the environment we all enjoy.
The experience reminded us that community care doesn’t always require complex plans — sometimes it starts with showing up, working together and taking small steps to care for the places we share.
